INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR FIELD CUTTING TRACKTO SPECIAL LENGTHS.
FOR USE WITH PRESCOLITE AKT TRACK SYSTEM ONLY
READ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING TRACK SYSTEM.
SAVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR REFERENCE WHEN MAKING ADDITIONS TO OR CHANGES IN THE TRACK SYSTEM.
INSTALLATION
1. Refer to PRECOLITE AKT series track for track installation instructions.
2. Remove live end feed and track end cap before cutting track. Track can be cut anywhere along its length. Cut must be at 90º
degrees to track rail.
3. Cut track to recuired length with hacksaw or any other suitable cutting tool.
4. Remove all burrs from insulators, track and copper buss bars. Reinstall track end cap and appropriate feed connectors, tighten
retaining screws.
5. CAUTION: After track has been cut make certain each section of track 4 feet or less has one mounting hole a maximum of 6 inches
from each end. A section of track greater than 4 feet in length must have a mounting hole a maximum of 12 inches from each end.
Additional mounting holes may be provided as required.
TO ADDITIONAL MOUNTING HOLES, FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE.
1. Locate mounting holes along center line of track. Center line is the v groove on the inside of track rail.
2. Drill hole using 1 1/4” inch drill bit.
3. CAUTION: Take care you do not damage buss bar insulators during the drilling operation. If you accidentally damage any insulators.
Disgard the track section. DO NOT USE A DAMAGED TRACK SECTION IN THE INSTALLATION.
4. Remove all burrs from drilled holes.

and proper lamping. Do not install in areas subject to combustible vapors or gases. Before wiring to power supply and
during servicing or relamping, turn off power at fuse or circuit breaker. All servicing or relamping must be performed by
qualified service personnel. Product must be grounded to avoid potential electric shock or other potential hazard.
Product must be mounted in locations and at heights and in a manner consistent with its intended use, and in
compliance with the National Electrical Code and local codes. The use of accessory equipment not recommended by
the manufacturer or installed contrary to instructions may cause an unsafe condition. Do not block light emanating from
product in whole or part, as this may cause an unsafe condition. Do not allow items such as drapes, curtains, screens or
the like to come into contact with the product or to block light from the product, as this may cause an unsafe condition.
